New photos have emerged giving excited fans a glimpse of the new Star Wars Land at Walt Disney World as it nears completion.

Costing a reported $1 billion (£773m) and spread over a huge 14-acre area, Star Wars: Galaxy Edge is all set to open on August 29th 2019 - and it’s fair to say it looks as epic as the films themselves, well some of them ;-)

With just four months until the official opening, a series of new aerial photos show construction in its final stages as the developers bring to life the beloved film series and begin to put the finishing touches to a whole host of attractions including a scale-model of the Millennium Falcon!

Just in case you’re not feeling particularly impressed by the project, for an idea of scale, take a look at the car park next door which is absolutely dwarfed by the new development.

Several steeples and round-topped towers can be seen in the midst of being built, as construction workers create what will be known as Black Spire Outpost -  an imaginary village that will now be an extension of the Star Wars world, with the developers revealing they've drawn inspiration from the architecture of a number of Middle Eastern cities, including Istanbul and Jerusalem.

As well as all the buildings and rides there’s obviously loads of cranes and excavators still knocking about as the team work round the clock with the installation of highly-anticipated and technologically-groundbreaking rides to hit the deadline for the opening day.

The awesome new addition will also feature several themed restaurants including Ronto Roasters and Oga's Cantina which, excitingly for parents all over the world, will be the first Disney venue to sell alcoholic beverages.

Meanwhile, a near-identical Stars Wars land is set to open at Disneyland in Anaheim, California late next month.

If you do fancy a trip you better get saving those pennies though - a one-day, one-park ticket now costs $104 for low-demand days, such as weekdays in less popular months.

Tickets for regular and prime-time visits - such as holidays and weekends - will cost a whopping $149 per day.
